Connect the Home Assistant you already use
You can use Home MCP with your own Home Assistant instance. A Hombee home or a smart-home installation from Hombee is not required.
- Install Hombee from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app, choose Home Assistant and enter the local or remote address of your instance.
- Select Sign in with Home Assistant and complete the Home Assistant login.
Add the ready Home MCP URL
In ChatGPT, Codex or another compatible client, add a Streamable HTTP server named Hombee Home MCP with this address:
https://hombee.app/mcp
Save the server and finish the Hombee authorization page that opens in your browser. You do not need to create or paste a token.
Check the connection
Start with a read-only request, for example:
List my Home Assistant rooms and devices. Do not change anything.
Compare the result with the Hombee app. The available tools depend on the connected Home Assistant instance and your permissions. Before an action that changes your home, check the target and expected result.
If no tools appear, confirm that Home Assistant is connected in the Hombee app, then repeat authorization in the AI client.
