Read the automation as a behaviour
Before changing the enabled state, identify the event that starts the automation, any required condition and the devices or area it can change.
Enable and verify
- Open the automation from the relevant module.
- Review its description and affected area.
- Enable it once and confirm that the new state is saved.
- Reproduce the trigger under safe conditions.
- Verify the affected device state and check whether another automation could have produced the same result.
Run the first test outside a safety scenario
Do not use a live safety or alarm scenario as the first test of an unverified automation.
