The weather outside no longer matters.

A man with a beard and his hair in a bun sits on the couch. He is holding an open notebook and looking thoughtfully out a large, bright window.

It doesn't matter if it's -20°C or +30°C outside, or if the air is dry or humid. Your home always has a stable, healthy microclimate. You don't have to open windows to fight stuffiness, or worry about a wet towel in the bathroom. Hombee Air is your personal life support system that works unnoticed in the background.

System elements

Large "Hombee" ventilation unit in a black casing with silver profiles and numerous inspection doors.

Ventilation unit

The ventilation unit performs integrated functions of ventilation with heat recovery (recuperation), forced-air heating, and air conditioning. The system is additionally equipped with a humidifier, a UV sterilization section, and H13 class HEPA filtration, ensuring air exchange with an efficiency of up to 6 times per hour.

Square, metal air intake or exhaust with horizontal, dense louvers.

Heat exchanger

Counter-flow heat exchanger with an energy recovery efficiency of min. 91%. It minimizes heat loss during air exchange, reducing the energy demand for heating.

A large, rectangular air filter with a white, densely pleated filter element, placed in a silver, metal frame.

Filtration and Sterilization

A combined, three-stage purification system consists of M5+F9 filters and a main HEPA H13 class filter. The filters remove solid particles, and an integrated UV-C lamp neutralizes microorganisms, viruses, and bacteria.

FAQ

System Basics and Operation

What exactly is the integrated Hombee Air system?

Hombee Air is the heart and lungs of your home. It is a single, central unit that replaces many separate, often noisy devices. The system comprehensively manages the air throughout the building, ensuring ideal living conditions 24 hours a day, regardless of the weather outside.

What 6 functions does one central unit perform?

One Hombee Air central unit provides six key functions: 1. Heating (thanks to a heat pump), 2. Cooling (air conditioning), 3. Ventilation with heat recovery (recuperation), 4. Purification (HEPA-class filtration), 5. Sterilization (UV-C lamp), and 6. Central air humidification.

How does the system work in practice to maintain an ideal climate in the home?

The system operates on two intelligently connected levels. First, it ensures an ideal climate by continuously processing and treating huge amounts of air already in the house - filtering, sterilizing, heating or cooling, and humidifying it. At the same time, to ensure constant freshness and an adequate oxygen level, the system continuously supplies a stream of new, clean air from the outside, while recovering heat from the removed air.

Comfort and Air Quality

How effectively does Hombee Air purify the air of smog, viruses, and allergens?

The system uses three-stage filtration with a main HEPA H13 class filter that removes 99.95% of the finest pollutants. In addition, a UV-C lamp neutralizes viruses and bacteria. The system's efficiency is so high that it is able to filter and clean the entire volume of air in your home up to 6 times in one hour, creating a safe zone of cleanliness.

What is central humidification and why is it important in winter?

Unlike portable humidifiers, the system centrally and automatically maintains an optimal humidity of 40-60% throughout the house. This prevents the drying of mucous membranes and skin during the heating season, which is crucial for health and immunity. It also protects wooden furniture and floors from cracking.

What is the noise level generated by the system? Is it audible?

The system is designed for absolute silence. Thanks to the use of thick, perfectly insulated ventilation ducts and a very low air flow speed (maximum 2 m/s), its operation is practically inaudible. You enjoy an ideal climate without noise and unpleasant drafts.

Comparison with Traditional Solutions

How does Hombee Air differ from standard recuperation and split air conditioners?

Standard recuperation only exchanges air, and split air conditioners cool individual rooms, generating noise and drafts. Hombee Air is a comprehensive solution: it ventilates, heats, cools, humidifies, and sterilizes the air throughout the house, operating centrally, silently, and without noticeable drafts.

Is forced-air heating as comfortable for the feet as popular underfloor heating?

Yes, the comfort is comparable, especially with wooden floors. Thanks to the precise distribution of warm air, the temperature difference at the floor is minimal (1-2°C). However, unlike underfloor heating, the Hombee Air system provides not only heating but also cooling and excellent air quality.

Can the system fully replace traditional heating, even in severe frosts?

Yes. Its heart is a high-efficiency heat pump, designed for effective operation in low temperatures (even down to -20°C). The system provides full thermal comfort without the need for additional, expensive-to-operate heat sources, such as electric heaters.

Installation and Technical Requirements

What are the spatial requirements for installing the Hombee Air central unit?

The system's central unit requires a dedicated technical room or a separate space, for example in a garage or attic. The exact dimensions depend on the model matched to the building's volume, but a space comparable to a large wardrobe should be assumed.

Where and how are the ventilation ducts run in the building?

The installation is very flexible. The network of pre-insulated ventilation ducts is most often hidden in the suspended ceiling space (minimum 25 cm high), but it can also be run in floor screeds or in an unused attic, depending on the building's architecture.

Can the Hombee Air system be installed in an existing house?

It is technically possible, but much more complicated and expensive than in a newly built facility. It would require a major renovation to run the network of ventilation ducts. Therefore, it is a solution dedicated primarily to new construction.

Costs and Operation

Is Hombee Air more expensive to install than the sum of traditional systems?

It depends on the standard to which we are comparing. Hombee Air is usually more expensive than the sum of three basic systems (heating, recuperation, air conditioning) in the standard version. However, it is more favorably priced than the sum of the same three systems in the standard version. Most importantly, it is much cheaper than the sum of six separate standard devices that would perform all its functions.

What are the real operating costs of the system in a single-family house?

Thanks to the synergy of the heat pump and recuperation, the system is very energy-efficient. In our show house (280 m²), the monthly energy consumption of the system (for all 6 functions) ranges from 600 kWh in transitional periods to 800 kWh in months with extreme temperatures.

What does servicing involve and how often do the filters need to be replaced?

Routine maintenance is limited to regular filter replacement, which the user can do themselves. The system will inform you when this is necessary (usually every 6-12 months). The first professional inspection and cleaning of the ducts is recommended after about 5 years of use.
